Vgenopoulos becomes Chairman of Cyprus’ Marfin Popular Bank

Marfin Popular Bank announced that the Board of Directors at its meeting of 9/2/2010 was re-constituted in accordance with new regulatory framework of the Central Bank of Cyprus by appointing Andreas Vgenopoulos as Non Executive Chairman of the Board and Messrs Neoclis Lysandrou and Vasilios Theocharakis as Non Executive Vice-Chairmen of the Board.
The Board of Directors was also informed on the resignation of Soud Baalawi, Non Executive Member of the Board. Dubai Group is currently represented on the Board by Joseph Kamal Eskandar, having at the same time nominated two additional candidate Board Members, the nomination of which is being evaluated according to the internal procedures of the Bank.
Further to the above, the Board of Directors of the Bank is formed as follows:

3. Vasilios Theocharakis – Vice Chairman, Non Executive Member,

7. Eleftherios Hiliadakis – Executive Member,
8. Platon Lanitis – Non Executive Member,
9. Stylianos Stylianou – Non Executive Member,
10. Josefh Kamal Eskandar – Non Executive Member,
11. Constantinos Mylonas – Independent Non Executive Member,
12. Markos Foros – Independent Non Executive Member.
