Frederick University student wins Cyprus 50th anniversary design competition

Savvas Thomas, a third-year student of graphic arts and advertising design at Frederick University, won the national competition for best design to mark the 50th anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus next year.
In all, the competition organised by the Ministry of Education and Culture drew 127 entries, with Thomas taking the first prize of EUR 5,000. The second prize of EUR 2,000 went to the join entry of designer Maria Ioannou and graphic artist Anna Alexandrou, while another Frederick student, Chrysostomos Iosifides, won the third prize of EUR 1,000.
