Cyprus records small decline in outward tourism in October

Cyprus recorded a small decline in outward tourism in October, as the number of residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad fell by 0.2% to 98,348, compared with 98,527 in the corresponding month of 2008.
Within countries, however, there was a large variation. At the top extreme end, return trips from Russia rose by 50% to 5,037, whereas at the bottom extreme end return trips from Syria fell by 24.9% to 1,466.
The most popular country is Greece, with trips rising by 3.4% to 34,746, followed by the UK, which saw return trips rise by 5.1% to 22,893.
