President of Cyprus Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat will meet on Tuesday in the framework of the UN-led direct talks for a Cyprus solution, to continue discussion on the subject of aliens, citizenship, immigration and asylum.

According to statements by Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Cyprus Taye-Brook Zerihoun, the two leaders had, during their last meeting on 24 November, a very fruitful discussion on the four subjects.

They also agreed to discuss the schedule of the meetings from 3rd of December and beyond and that their representatives will meet on the 2nd and the 4th of December to discuss the issues of economy and property at each of these meetings.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third.

President Christofias and the Talat began peace talks in September 2008, under UN auspices to find a mutually acceptable solution.
