Cyprus industrial production down 5% y/y in August

The index of industrial production for August 2009 reached 79.0 (base 2005=100), recording a decrease of 5.0% compared with August 2008.
For the period January – August 2009, the index recorded a decrease of 8.7% compared with the same period of the previous year.
For manufacturing, the production index for August 2009 reached 63.3, recording a decrease of 11.0% compared with August 2008.
Meanwhile, the industrial output prices index for September 2009 reached 119.4 (base 2005=100), recording an increase of 0.3% compared with August 2009.
For the period January-September 2009, the prices index recorded a decrease of 1.1% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
