Cyprus industrial production down 10.4% in June

The index of industrial production for May 2009 reached 102.7 (base 2005=100), recording a decrease of 10.4% compared to May 2008, according to the latest data from the Statistical Service.
For the period January – May 2009, the production index recorded a decrease of 9.7% compared with the same period of the previous year.
For manufacturing, the production index for May 2009 recorded a decrease of 13.6% compared with May 2008.
Meanwhile, the industrial output prices index for June 2009 reached 116.8 (base 2005=100), recording a decrease of 0.1% compared to May 2009.
For the period January-June 2009, the prices index showed an increase of 0.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
For manufacturing, the prices index for June 2009 recorded a decrease of 0.1% compared to May 2009.
