Cyprus Gourmet: Three “Chefs” for the Four Seasons

Last Tuesday was a pleasurable occasion for me, because Pambos Charalambous, the Four Seasons manager, assembled the Chefs and Maître d’s of his three signature restaurants to receive the hotel’s first Cyprus Gourmet Awards. The Seasons Oriental, the Mavrommatis “super Greek” and the Vivaldi Italian restaurant have each been awarded our “One Chef” Seal of Recommendation Award.
Pambos is justifiably proud of the ship of which he is Captain. Whether I go ‘incognito’ or as a guest, I always find this hotel impeccable in its service and appearance. Of this award-winning group of chefs and maîtres he says: “They have all been here from eight to 16 years and have all grown and developed professionally here. This is in line with the policy of the Four Seasons to nurture and develop our staff in their profession and as people”.
I have a feeling there are more awards in store for the Four Seasons. “But don’t publicise our Sunday Buffet”, Pambos told me as I left, “It’s packed, every week”.
