Libyan Minister of Petroleum to visit Cyprus

Libyan Minister of Petroleum Shukri Ghanem will pay Cyprus a three – day official visit.

According to an official press release, the Libyan Minister will arrive in Cyprus late Tuesday and the next day he will be received by President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias.

Shukri Ghanem will later on hold a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Antonis Paschalides.

During his official visit here, the Libyan Minister and his entourage will meet with other officials of the Cypriot Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the Regulatory Authority for Energy of Cyprus and the Cyprus Electric Authority.

Among the issues to be discussed are the Cyprus Energy Center in Vasiliko, the supply of Cyprus with natural gas, the renewable energy sources, as well as the research for hydrocarbon reserves in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone.
