Cyprus exchange in contact with Egyptians during forum

Cyprus Stock Exchange representatives will have significant contacts with the Stock Exchange of Egypt and institutional investors of the country during the official visit of President of the Republic, Demetris Christofias to Egypt.
During the visit on April 7-9, 2009, the CSE will attend the Business Forum organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism in cooperation with the CCCI in Cairo and Alexandria, while it will have private contacts with the Egyptian Stock Exchange within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two stock exchanges.
During the Business Forum in Cairo under the auspices of President Christofias, CSE General Manager, Nontas Metaxas will talk about “The contribution of exchanges of Cyprus and Egypt to bilateral cooperation”. The same issue will be analysed at a similar event in Alexandria.
It is noted that Finance Minister, Charilaos Stavrakis has been invited by the Egyptian Stock Exchange to announce the start of the session on April 8, 2009. On the same day, the CSE in cooperation with the Egyptian Stock Exchange will organise a road show at the stock exchange’s premises in Cairo to inform the institutional investors on the opportunities that our market offers to the foreign investors.
The event will be attended by CSE Members and representatives of listed companies in the CSE and the ASE.
Also, the CSE representation will have official contacts with officials from the Egyptian stock exchange, as part of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two stock exchanges.
The CSE delegation aims to expand the attraction of foreign investors and to present the advantages of the Cypriot capital market. It is noted that the stock exchanges are a valuable catalyst in a country’s effort to attract foreign investors, since they offer a significant way to fund investments.
