Cyprus Minister of Commerce on official visit to Iran

Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Antonis Paschalides will pay to Iran a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Sayyed Masoud Mirkazemi.

According to an official press release, highlight of the visit, which will begin Sunday 1st of March, will be the signing of the Agreement for Mutual Promotion and Protection of Investments between Cyprus and Iran.

During his official visit there, the Cypriot Minister will hold a series of meetings with Ministers of Iran responsible for Commerce, Industry, Petroleum, as well as with the Tourism Authority and the Chambers of Iran.

The Minister will discuss ways of cooperation in the fields of commerce, tourism, industry, energy and investments with the aim to further enhance bilateral relations.

The press release says that the Cypriot Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chambers of Iran, will organize a seminar to promote Cyprus as a business and services center. The seminar will be addressed by the Cypriot Minister.

Paschalides will then depart for Brussels to participate in the EU Competition Council.

From Brussels he will head for Athens to attend the opening of the Education Fair where Cyprus participates as honorary country.

Paschalides returns to Cyprus Saturday 7th of March.
