Cyprus FM to attend EU GAERC meeting

Foreign Minister Markos Kyprianou, who has concluded his round of visits to South American countries, is traveling to Brussels from Brazil to attend the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council, to be held on Monday, January 26.

According to an official announcement issued here today, at the Council meeting there will be a presentation of the priorities of the EU Czech Presidency and a discussion, inter alia, on the security of energy supply, the Middle East peace process as well as EU relations with Ukraine and Russia.

On Sunday, January 25, Kyprianou will attend EU Foreign Ministers’ dinner with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Palestinian Authority and Turkey during which there will be a discussion on the latest developments in Gaza.

On the same day, the Cypriot Minister will hold a meeting in Brussels with the Ambassadors of the Republic of Cyprus, who are accredited to EU member states, during which there will be a briefing and an exchange of views on services issues.
