?U to launch social campaign in Cyprus

Vladimir Spidla, Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Commissioner, will be in Cyprus on Thursday to inaugurate a three-day information campaign entitled “Do you know what Social Europe can do for you?”.

The exhibition is organized by the European Commission Representation in Cyprus and the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.

The event, which will be held at the Ledra Street crossing point in Nicosia, will also be addressed by Minister of Labour and Social Insurance Sotiroula Charalambous.

The main aim of the campaign is to enlighten EU citizens on the measures which the Union is taking to create better and more working positions, improve working conditions, removing barriers to job mobility, inclusion and equality between men and women, promoting equal opportunities for people of all ages and improving training and adaptability.

The exhibition will be open to the public on Friday, 21 November, from 0900-2000 and Saturday from 0900-1400.
