Maruti Suzuki India reports 30% rise in October sales

Indian car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported a 29.6% increase in sales volume for the domestic A3 segment (SX4, Swift, Dzire, Esteem) in October compared to the corresponding period in 2007. The company also revealed that it sold 64,490 vehicles (all segments) during October, which included 5,363 units of exports.
In October 2007, Maruti Suzuki had sold 4,177 units in the A3 segment, while it sold 5,412 units in this segment in October 2008. MUV (Grand Vitara and Gypsy) sales for Maruti Suzuki also increased from 417 units to 612 units during this period, representing a 46.8% increase; the sales of Suzuki’s MUV have increased by an impressive 102 per cent for the period 2007-08 to 2008-09.
