Cyprus industrial turnover rose 21.4% y/y in July

The industrial turnover index in Cyprus reached 197.1 (base 2000=100) in July 2008, recording an increase of 21.4% compared with July 2007.
The industrial turnover index comprises mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water supply.
For the period January-July 2008 the industrial turnover index recorded a rise of 15.5% compared with the same period of the previous year.
In the same period, industrial production rose by 4.3%.
For manufacturing, the index for July 2008 reached 183.1, recording an increase of 19.7% compared with July 2007.
