Cyprus-Russian Friendship Association delegation visits Moscow

A three member delegation of the Cyprus-Russian Association of Friendship and Cultural Relations, comprising its President Haris Thrasou, its General Secretary Andreas Thomas and the member of the Secretariat Andreas Partasides visited Moscow September 28 to October 3 to attend the celebrations for the anniversary of Cyprus Independency.

The celebration was organised by the Russia-Cyprus Friendship Association, in cooperation with the Embassy of Cyprus in Moscow.

A press release issued by the Cyprus-Russian Association said that during the visit a cooperation protocol between the Russian and the Cypriot side was signed, aiming at the further enhancement and development of the bilateral cultural, scientific and social relations between Cyprus and Russia.

During its visit, the delegation also had meetings with organizations and other institutions in the region of Moscow. It also had meetings with the city of Moscow Duma Chairman, the Rector of the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts.

A photo exhibition was also inaugurated at the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts on the theme “Orthodoxy in Cyprus”.

The press release said a high-ranking delegation from Moscow will visit Cyprus for various meetings and will attend the General Assembly of the Cyprus-Russian Association to be held on November 5 in Nicosia.
