Engomi Municipality has joined the Green Dot Cyprus network, increasing the islandwide coverage to 400,000 people or 55% of all households. The greater Nicosia municipalities will start work in September to raise awareness and introduce three channels of collection – paper twice a month, PMD and recyclable metal (aluminium), as well as tetrapak once a week collected from homes, and glass from purpose-made collection points.
The municipality of Strovolos and the eight municipalities and communities of the greater Limassol area have already introduced the scheme that has been operating for the past few months.
Green Dot said that over the next few months, the scheme is expected to be introduced in other towns as well.
