Cypriot FM holds meetings in Malta

The establishment of a joint representation office for Cyprus and Malta, in the city of Ramallah at the Palestinian territories, will be the main issue of the talks Cypriot Foreign Minister Marcos Kyprianou will have today with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Malta Tonio Borg.

Kyprianou is paying an official visit to Malta.

Sources close to the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs told CNA that Kyprianou and Borg have already reviewed some of the issues to be discussed today, during a dinner last night.

Today, the two Ministers will meet again and will discuss bilateral relations, the promotion of issues of mutual interest and the cooperation between the two countries within the EU and the Union for the Mediterranean. Kyprianou is also expected to brief Borg on the latest developments in the Cyprus question.

After his meeting with the Maltese Foreign Minister, Kyprianou will be received by the President of Malta Edward Fenech-Adami.

In the afternoon Kyprianou will fly to Brussels to participate in the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council to take place on Tuesday July 22.

On Tuesday July 22, Kyprianou will travel to Serbia for an official visit.
