President of Cyprus Shipping Chamber re-elected at the ECSA

President of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber has been re-elected to the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) Board of Directors, which met last week in Oslo.
ECSA comprises the national shipowners’ associations of the European Union.
At the meeting the President and the Director General of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Dirk Fry and Thomas Kazakos represented the Cyprus shipping industry.
“This election clearly shows the high recognition that the Cyprus Shipping Chamber enjoys among the European Shipping community, an achievement, which is considered to be a significant success for Cyprus shipping in general,” a statement by the Cyprus Shipping Chamber says.
The main issue discussed during the ECSA Board of Directors was global warming and measures taken by the EU shipping industry to reduce even further the amounts of green house gas emissions.
