The 33rd Cyprus International Fair opens its gates 23 May – 1 June. The state fair will be inaugurated by President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias. The inauguration ceremony on May 23 will be attended by Ministers, Members of the Parliament, foreign ambassadors, and other officials.
President of the Cyprus International State Fair Authority, Loris Tryfonos, has said that this year more than 300 exhibitors will participate at the fair, presenting products and services of 1.000 companies from Cyprus and 26 foreign countries.
The foreign countries to participate are Greece, US, Spain, Hungary, Syria and the Czech Republic.
Three Turkish Cypriot exhibitors will participate in this year’s fair and in his statements, Tryfonos urged more Turkish Cypriot exhibitors to follow their example.
Moreover, visitors will be able to visit the bazaar at pavilion 9 where traditional products will be sold from Greece, Indonesia, Syria, Egypt and Singapore.
The Cyprus International State Fair is the most visited commercial fair in Cyprus.
In 2008, Tryfonos said, more than 25 fairs will be presented in Cyprus, attracting more than 350.000 visitors.
In addition to this, the State Fair Authority plans to proceed with a masterplan to construct a modern conference and fair center in Nicosia, able to host international fairs, international conferences and other events from Cyprus and all over the world.
The fair will also host a photo exhibition of popular Cypriot composer Marios Tokas who passed away last month.
