Cyprus tourism revenue up in Jan-Feb

Cyprus tourism revenue rose by 5.2% over the same period of the previous year in January-February 2008, reaching EUR 75.9 mln, compared with EUR 72.2 mln in the first two months of 2007 according to the Passengers’ Survey.

This is comparable with tourist arrivals, which rose by 5.1% in the same period.

In 2007 arrivals rose by 0.6% to 2.4 mln and tourism revenue rose by 5.9% to EUR 1.9 bln or 12% of GDP.

In February alone, revenue rose by 5.5% to EUR 38.5 mln.
