From March 15th, Lufthansa is offering the new route from Larnaka to Munich three times weekly and will take off at Larnaka International Airport on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. As part of the festivities for the new route, the passengers who travelled to Munich during the first week of the service have been served by staff members in traditional Bavarian ‘dirndl’ outfits.

Kathrin Pfeiler, General Manager for Cyprus, commented: “When we introduced the flight to Munich only for four weeks in August last year, we did not expect such an overwhelming success. The flight has been very well accepted by the Cypriot market and we expect the same high demand on this route throughout the whole summer season 2008”.

Alfred van der Meer, CEO for Hermes Airports Ltd said: “We are very happy to welcome to our Airport the new route from Larnaka to Munich. We strongly believe that the new service of Lufthansa will also be very welcomed by travellers”.

The route will be operated by an Airbus A 320. Prices for a return ticket in economy class from Larnaka to Munich start from 238 Euro round trip including taxes and ticket service charge. This price is bound to certain conditions and based on availability. Further information can be obtained at www.lufthansa.com.
