Cyprus retail sales up provisional 8.9% in 2007

Retail sales volumes in Cyprus rose by 8.9% in 2007, according to provisional data for December. 

According to provisional estimates, the turnover volume index of retail trade for December 2007 increased by 33.2% over the previous month and by 16.1% compared with December 2006.

Final data for November report a year-on-year increase of 13.6% in November and 8.0% for January-November.

The value of retail sales rose by 11.0% in January-November 2007, and an estimated 11.8% for the full years, according to the provisional data.
