Cyprus motor regs up 10.6% y/y in Jan 08

Cypriots’ love affair with the car continued in January, with the number of motor registrations up by 10.6% to 5,672 in January 2008, compared with 5,128 in January 2007. Of this total, just over half (2,283) were used vehicles.

The registrations of private saloon cars increased by 9.8% to 4,512 from 4,111 in January 2007.

In 2007, motor vehicle registrations rose by 31.1% to 64,405, thanks in large part to a tax cut.
