Cyprus industrial turnover up 5.9% y/y in Sep

The industrial turnover index (comprising mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water supply) for September 2007 reached 148.1 (base 2000=100), recording an increase of 5.9% compared to September 2006.

For manufacturing, the index for September 2007 reached 136.4 units, recording an increase of 5.7% compared to September 2006.

In the same period, the index for total industrial output rose by only 0.2%.

For the period January-September 2007 the turnover index recorded a rise of 7.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, while the output index recorded an increase of 2.7%.
