Cyprus imports increase in 9M07

Cyprus’ imports recorded an increase while exports decreased in the period from January to September 2007, with the trade deficit rising to 2,200.5 million Cyprus pounds in January-September 2007 compared to 1,925.9 million pounds in January-September 2006.

According to data published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, total imports/arrivals, covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other EU member states, in January-September 2007 amounted to 2,679.5 million Cyprus pounds as compared to 2,418.5 million pounds in January-September 2006.

Total exports/dispatches, covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states, in January-September 2007 were 479.0 million pounds compared to 492.6 million pounds in January-September 2006.

Furthermore, during September 2007 total imports/arrivals, covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states, valued at 299.6 million pounds.

Total exports/dispatches, covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states, including stores and provisions, in September 2007 amounted to 47.8 million pounds.

Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, were 20.3 million pounds and exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, 27.5 million pounds.
