Cyprus industrial output best in 5 years

Industrial output growth in Cyprus slowed in September as the index of industrial production rose by only 0.2% compared with September 2006 to reach 124.7.

However, for the year as a whole, industrial production has marked its best performance in five years.

In the period January-September 2007 the index recorded an increase of 2.7% compared to the same period of the previous year according to the Statistical Service.

This compares with a rise of only 0.8% in 2005, 0.8% in 2006, 2.0% in 2004 and 1.9% in 2003.
