Pavlos Dekatris, a 12-year-old student at the Senior School in Nicosia is set to fly to British Airways’ headquarters at Heathrow – to have his say on the future development of the airline.

British Airways is introducing its all-new “Kids’ Council”, which will be made up of twelve children aged between 8 and 14 from around the world, who will have a say in the range of services and products offered to children flying with the airline.

BA is giving Pavlos and his 11 young colleagues the chance to speak up and have a genuine influence on the airline’s future services.

Pavlos’ original ideas and clever thinking saw him selected from the thousands of children from all over the world who participated in last April’s international contest to find Kids’ Council members.

“Young travellers are very important to us. The number of children travelling with us has increased considerably in the last few years and, whether they fly with their families or on their own, we take children very seriously as a consumer group in their own right,” said British Airways Manager Cyprus Marianna Trokoudes.

“Forming the Kids’ Council will help us to improve the products and services that we offer these young people. I am especially proud and happy that British Airways Cyprus will have a representative on the Kids’ Council. Pavlos is both charismatic and clever and has a wonderful personality, which I am sure will shine through during his time on the Council.”
