Cyprus GDP per capita at EUR 19820

The GDP per capita for Cyprus in 2007 stands at CYP 11.600 or EUR 19.820, recording an increase of 27.5% compared to CYP 9.100 in 2002.

The ranking of Cyprus also improved among the EU member states. Compared with the EU27 average, Cyprus’ GDP per capita increased from 89.6% in 2002 to 93.7% in 2007.

According to the Statistical Service the GDP for the year 2006 is estimated at CYP8,379.7 mln at current prices compared to CYP7,879.1 mln in 2005 and CYP7,039.6 mln at constant 2000 prices, chain linking method, compared to CYP6,778.9 mln in 2005. The growth rate in real terms is estimated at 3.8% in 2006, compared to 3.9% in 2005. The revision of the National Accounts for the years 2002-2006 is due to the incorporation of the results from the new survey on Real Estate Activities as well as revised data on Employment.
