Panda Security has launched the new 1.50.01 version of Malware Radar, its online automated audit service. This version offers a series of improvements, including:

– New executive and disinfection reports, along with improvements to the usability of the solutionn.

– Simple scan deployment to all computers on the network, using either internal tools (SMS, Tivoli, LoginScript,…) or the Malware Radar distribution tool.

– Remote monitoring of the status of the scan monitoring and cancellation of unwanted scans.

– Option to optimize the internal infrastructure through detailed information about network problems.

– Users can decide whether or not to send Panda suspicious files located during the scan.

According to Borja Bonilla, Malware Radar Product Manager at Panda Security, “If it were already easy to carry out security audits with Malware Radar, now it is even easier. We operate under the premise that using our solution should not create any extra work for administrators, or have any effect on the performance of IT systems. That’s why we have made the executive reports even more streamlined, to give an accurate global view of the network security situation at a glance”.

The distribution tool provided by Malware Radar has been completely overhauled, to allow for more simple management and remote control of all computers scanned on the network, giving administrators complete and detailed information about the deployment process in progress.

The service console offers a new interface which is more intuitive and complete, with images to help understand the information. It also offers executive reports, both online and in PDF, that are now both more complete and simple, including images to aid understanding.

Malware Radar detects and eliminates all types of malware, even those that traditional security solutions cannot detect; it is compatible with other antivirus products on the market, so there is no need to uninstall or disable existing security solutions; it provides complete reports on network securit malware detected, critical vulnerabilities and protection status.

Malware Radar is an automated malware audit service that detects the threats that slip past traditional solutions. This innovative solution responds to the problem posed by the spectacular growth in the amount of malicious code in circulation, which is not detected by existing anti-malware products. In fact, 76% of the companies audited during the Malware Radar test phase were infected by malware, even though they had security solutions installed.

Malware Radar uses a new Collective Intelligence approach that includes automated processing of large quantities of information about programs and files in a new infrastructure managed by PandaLabs, and real-time communication with users’ computers. This way, the malware scan and detection is performed on Panda Security’s servers, not on the system itself.

Thanks to the Collective Intelligence, Malware Radar can detect malware that has slipped past other antivirus solutions and is acting maliciously on the computer.

The Malware Radar service can easily be configured and run from any network computer with an Internet connection and a web browser. As it is a web-based, on-demand service, it does not need to be installed on every computer. Once the audit has started, the process is performed automatically and without intervention on the computers specified by the administrator.

Malware Radar is compatible with any anti-malware solution installed on the computer, and also complements them to improve network security.

Furthermore, the service is transparent to the end-user and resource usage can be adapted to the administrator’s preferences.
