Cyprus industrial output up 3.1% y/y in August

The index of industrial production for August 2007 reached 95.4 (base 2000=100), recording an increase of 3.1% compared with August 2006, according to the Statistical Service CYSTAT.

For the period January – August 2007 the index recorded an increase of 3.4% compared with the same period of the previous year.

For manufacturing, the index for August 2007 reached 78.9, recording an increase of 3.3% compared to August 2006.

Meanwhile, the industrial turnover index (comprising mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water supply) for August 2007 reached 126.3 (base 2000=100), recording an increase of 8.3% compared with August 2006.

For the period January-August 2007 the index recorded an increase of 7.4% compared with the same period of the previous year.

For manufacturing, the index for August 2007 reached 114.9, recording an increase of 9.6% compared with August 2006.
