The organisers of the FIA Cyprus Rally that gets underway this weekend, have teamed up with Sporttraxx, suppliers of tracking systems, to follow each of the 51 rally cars in real-time on the Internet.

The only requirement is to install the latest edition of Google Earth and then to go to http://www.sporttraxx.com/events/cyprus07 where the visitor will be able to track the participating crews that are also challenging the Middle East Rally Championship.

Each car has a GSM card installed that will be transmitting real-time data on their whereabouts a delay of a mere second, according to the rally organisers.

The Cyprus Rally starts from the ‘Molos’ promenade at 8pm Friday and the entrants will battle along the nine grueling special stages on Saturday and Sunday.

Other information is also available from the event’s website www.cyprusrally.com.cy .
