Cyprus travel abroad up by 21.1% in August

The rise in the number of Cyprus residents travelling abroad reached its second highest rate in August, recording an increase of 21.1%.

On the basis of the results of the Passengers’ Survey, 156,194 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in August 2007 compared with 128,989 in the corresponding month of last year.

Trips to Greece rose by 13.3%, from 60,693 in August 2006 to 68,778 in August 2007.

Trips to the UK rose by 25.1% increase, from 16,347 in August 2006 to 20,449 in August 2007, and trips to Russia rose by 35.7% from 5,501 to 7,466.
