Industrial turnover up 4.8% y/y in June

The industrial turnover index (comprising mining and quarrying; manufacturing; and electricity, gas and water supply) in June 2007 reached 145.5 (base 2000 = 100), recording a rise of 4.8% compared with June 2006.

For the period January-June 2007 the index recorded an increase of 6.9% compared with the same period of the previous year.

For manufacturing alone, the index for June 2007 reached 141.2, recording an increase of 5.4% compared with June 2006.
