Musical Production WEST END STORY premieres Friday at the ancient Odeon amphitheatre in Paphos, Cyprus, with the presentation of some of the finest songs ever written for the stage in concert form, performed by a most talented and distinguished cast of six British artists.

The production comes to Cyprus on the back of a lengthy tour of the UK, where it have been playing for over 70 performances to venues as diverse as 1,000 seat theatres to stately homes and castles. The show is a co-production between Midas Touch Productions and Mark Puddle.

A Midas Touch Productions press release said the production will include memorable songs from the greatest musicals of all time, such as Mamma Mia, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Evita, Cats, Joseph, Sunset Boulevard and Chicago, in addition to the West End’s most recent smash hit successes Wicked and Avenue Q.

”The credits of the performers leave little doubt about their musical talent and experience in the London musical scene, having worked with world renown directors and producers themselves,” the press release added.

The Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture is the main sponsor of this year’s production, which is supported by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and takes place in association with RIALTO theatre in Limassol. The daily English language paper the Cyprus Mail is the media sponsor.

For a couple of the bigger choral songs, young people aged 12-18 chosen from school and stage schools across the island, will sing alongside the stars of the show, for an unforgettable experience and a taste of what performing professional musical theatre is really like.
