Nokia Siemens to set up Cellcom Israel’s next-gen Network

Cellcom, the largest cellular operator in Israel has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as a partner to develop its Next Generation Network. The new system will allow Cellcom Israel to offer its subscribers a fixed-mobile convergence experience where they can enjoy the same innovative services with either fixed or mobile access.

Cellcom Israel, the biggest Israeli mobile phone operator with more than 2.9 million subscribers, has recently acquired licenses for managing voice and data on a fixed line. Following a rigorous and extensive review of offers, Cellcom Israel has chosen the solution from Nokia Siemens Networks due to the high-quality of its products and services as well as a solid experience in NGN solutions worldwide.

A core and broadband access network will be delivered to the Israeli partner. The deal marks the first fixed network project for Nokia Siemens Networks in Israel.
