Epson will showcase a line of dot matrix printing solutions when it presents the heavy-duty DFX-9000, the PLQ-20 high-speed passbook printer and the versatile LX-300 at GITEX 2007, the Middle East’s largest IT exhibition that will be held on September 08 – 12.

The DFX-9000 has been built for enhanced business speed and reliability, and has been equipped with features to facilitate seamless networking and handle a wide range of commercial, industrial and logistics printing tasks.

With a 1,550cps print speed, it delivers exceptional performance in all data processing and drafting tasks, while durability has been optimized with an ongoing support of a print volume of 133 mln lines MVBF (mean volume between failure), an MTBF (mean time between failure) of 20,000 power on hours, and a ribbon life of 15 mln characters.

The DFX-9000 can be easily integrated with existing equipment using standard USB as well as parallel and serial interfaces. It is also capable of printing up to 10 part forms on paper from 76.2 to 406.4mm wide, and comes with an optional perforation cutter.

Epson’s PLQ-20 is an easy-to-use, long-lasting printing tool for the fast-pace, demanding work environment of the banking and public administration sectors. It can handle high volumes of passbooks, visas, tickets and other documents with ease, while its compact design and multiple connectivity features easily fit different IT and space requirements. An optional space-saving kit saves even more space as it includes a top paper tray for storing forms and books neatly, while a rear paper guide bends the paper safely after printing, giving more legroom behind the printer.

The PLQ-20 has a print speed up to 480cps (10cpi), high paper throughput, and can handle passbooks up to 2.6mm thick. Printing is also made easy and quick with the convenient automatic sheet alignment and automatic print head adjustment features, while ribbon change is just as trouble-free and can be done without IT support. It is equipped with ESCP/P 2, IBM emulation and Olivetti PR2E default setting. It also has standard parallel and serial interfaces, while the USB port allows both wired and wireless network connection.

A highly flexible solution for home, home office, education and small business users, the LX-300 combines speed, dependability, convenience and excellent performance in a compact, highly versatile printing device. It delivers fast draft and near letter quality printing, and has a very small footprint to maximize desk space.

Other features are a convertible push/pull tractor, colour upgradeability, and standard serial and parallel interfaces with built-in auto switching, which is usually only found in laser printers.
