He also said that the delegation will receive, on site, two special machines as part of laboratory equipment for the Rirouta clinic, which operates thanks to donations from Cyprus.
“We hope to expand our activities to other regions in Kenya”, Dr. Demetriades said, adding that the mission will remain in Rirouta where it advertise for local services to create the Pediatric wing at the outpatients’ unit of the clinic as well as a surgery room which will double as First Aid ward.
The next aim of the Cypriot Doctors of the World is to send its dental unit to areas which the organisation’s missions have not reached.
“As soon as the permanent dental unit is established, a mobile unit will begin tours outside Rirouta”, Demetriades added.
Also taking part in the Cypriot mission are dentists George Georgiou and Olga Sofocleous, pediatrician Petros Iacovides and volunteer Katia Christodoulou.
