Cyprus retail trade up 7.2% in Q1

The Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for March 2007 increased by 19.8 units or 18.2% to 128.7 units compared to 108.9 in February 2007.
For the period January-March 2007 the Index recorded an increase of 7.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
According to provisional estimates the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for April 2007 decreased by 3.9 units or 3.0% to 124.8 units compared to 128.7 in March 2007. For the period January-April 2007 the Index is provisionally estimated to have an increase of 5.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
