Ericsson mobile softswitch solution for Wataniya Algeria

Ericsson has been selected to deliver its Mobile Softswitch Solution for Wataniya Telecom’s nationwide GSM network in Algeria. The solution will increase network capacity, performance and operational efficiency, allowing Wataniya to meet subscriber growth and demand for its mobile services.

Wataniya Telecom Algérie is Algeria‘s first multimedia mobile operator, running a GPRS/EDGE network and providing advanced wireless voice and data services to a customer base of more than 3 mln users in a fast growing market. With this contract Wataniya takes its first step towards an all-IP core network.

Ericsson will also provide a range of associated professional services to ensure successful network delivery and make network expansion easier and faster.

Ericsson’s Mobile Softswitch Solution powers about 50% of all the mobile networks with softswitch architecture that are in full commercial service.
