These days more and more corporations are realising that reducing the impact of their company’s environmental footprint should not be their single goal: leaders know they must find proactive ways for their organisation to do some good. Simply put, harming the environment “less” is not enough – responsible corporations are also taking on proactive activities and policies that enable their organisations to do more “good.”

Sony and Electrolux are two such examples. Winners of the 2007 Sustainable Energy Europe Award in the Corporate Commitment category, both companies have developed an array of energy-saving consumer products and programmes that prove their commitment to constantly identifying opportunities where they can evolve. Their activities reflect that they also are maintaining lines of communication with customers to help individuals realise the importance of reducing energy consumption – thereby doing additional good for our environment.
