Cyprus trade deficit up again in Jan-Mar

The trade deficit in Cyprus rose to CYP 637.4 mln in January-March 2007 compared with CYP 587.2 mln in January-March 2006, according to revised figures.

Total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) in January-March 2007 amounted to CYP 800.1 mln, compared with CYP 769.9 mln in January-March 2006.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States) in January-March 2007 reached CYP 162.7 mln, compared with CYP 182.7 mln in January-March 2006.

During March 2007 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) were valued at CYP 288.1 mln.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States), including stores and provisions, in March 2007 amounted to CYP 52.8 mln.

Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, reached CYP 28.7 mln and exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, CYP 24.1 mln.

 

Preliminary results for April

 

On the basis of preliminary estimates for Foreign Trade in April 2007, total imports/ arrivals reached CYP 302.0 mln, of which CYP 211.3 mln were arrivals from other Member States of E.U. and CYP 90.7 mln imports from Third countries.

Total exports/dispatches reached CYP 51.0 mln of which CYP 37.5 mln were dispatches to other Member States of E.U. and CYP 13.5 mln exports to Third Countries.
