Construction output prices record lowest rise since 2002

Production up by 3.9% in 2006

 

Construction output prices recorded their lowest rise since 2002 last year, rising by 9.3% in 2006, compared with 11.8% in 2005, 14.9% in 2004 and 10.4% in 2003.

The main fall in inflation came from the building construction side which rose by just 6.6%, as civil engineering prices rose by 17.4%.

Meanwhile, the production index for construction rose by 3.3% year on year in the fourth quarter and by 3.9% for the whole of 2006. Civil engineering rose by 1% and building construction by 4.7% in 2006.
