Samsung distributors in Cyprus, Alpan Telecom, have introduced two new ‘smart’ security features that will initially be available on the SGH D900 and later on the E390 and SGH Z720 (3G).

If a mobile phone is stolen and the new user replaces the SIM card, the phone will active the Mobile Tracker service and send a discreet SMS message to one or two pre-determined numbers and will include the call number of the new user as well as the individual IMEI number of your device. This will help identify and possibly prosecute whover stole the mobile phone.

In the case of an emergency, the SOS Message service can be activated by pressing any of the side volume keys four times and up to five different users will receive a distress text who in turn will call the user and offer help.
