BPW Cyprus and the European Parliament office in Nicosia hosted corporate trainer Ioannis Kalogerakis at the Hilton Cyprus who spoke on “Divergence in leadership – responsibilities of both sexes”, where two special awards were also handed to the Female Entrepreneur and Female Professional for 2006.

Dr. Kalogerakis, the Managing Director of JMK Anthropocentric Corporate Training and a former professor at the Metsovio Polytechnic, also made similar presentations to Laiki Insurance staff, teachers at Pascal Institute and Zorpas staff in Limassol.

Justice Minister Sophocles Sophocleous and BPW Cyprus President Elena Tanou attended the presentation ceremony where the eight candidates were presented by Androulla Kitti, chairman of the prizes selection committee.

The title of BPW Female Professional of the year went to Dr Areti Demosthenous, a professor on social theology, justice and Middle Eastern religions at the universities of Athens and Haifa.

The title for BPW Female Entrepreneur was shared by Lina Ellinas, managing director of the family-owned Oleastro Enterprises, producers and distributors of organic olive products, and Photine Papavassiliou Constantinou, Managing Director of the Archimedes & Katelaris Metals Co., a business she inherited and turned around in a rags-to-riches story.
