Malta’s President Fenech Adami has assured that Malta’s position towards Cyprus is a position of principles and therefore its support towards Cyprus will continue.
Adami gave this assurance at a ceremony on February 22, 2007, during which Cyprus Ambassador to Malta, based in Rome, Athena Mavronicola, presented her credentials.
During a private conversation after the ceremony, Mavronicola briefed Adami on the current situation of the Cyprus question.
Adami congratulated her about Cyprus’ economic progress and its forthcoming accession to the Eurozone.
He also conveyed his warm regards to Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos.
During her stay in Malta, Mavronicola also met with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.
