Cyprus trips abroad up by over 18% in Q1

 

On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, 79,452 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in March 2007 compared to 63,280 in the corresponding month last year recording an increase of 25.6%. A large proportion of trips in March will have been students.

In March 2007 there was an increase of 43.0% to 34,442 in the number of trips to Greece and a 50.8% increase to 16,760 in the number of trips to the United Kingdom.

For the first three months as a whole the number of trips abroad amounted to 69,332 and rose by around 18.4% year on year.
