Pantech Group, the leading Korean handset manufacturer, has announced the launch of IM-S150, a new compact clamshell phone accepting the Korean traditional patterns on the surface as part of its design innovation initiatives.

The new phone is likely to appeal to the trend-conscious customers for its stylish and compact design. The IM-S150 is 7.8cm in height and 3.7cm in width and weighs only 80g.

Man Gi Kim, the spokesman of Pantech Group said, “Design has become one of the key factors to success in the mobile phone sector, and this kind of design is what we have brought into focus. Pantech will constantly create new designs inspired by Korean traditional beauty.”

Recently, the IM-S150 has earned plaudits for its trendy design. It is one of four Pantech products honoured at the 2007 iF(International Forum) Design Awards for excellence in the design of cellular phones.

The IM-S150 features advanced-quality screen, incorporating dual TFT LCD of 260,000 colors, a 1.3 mega-pixel camera with flash and 64 polyphonic ringtones. Users can send photos and phone numbers to other mobile phones through its infra-red data association (IrDA) function.

The IM-S150 will be launched in Korea this week under Pantech’s SKY brand, the leading Korean premium mobile phone brand.
