The Cyprus Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW) has launched a job-finding survey that helps match the needs of job seekers with the needs of employers seeking to recruit.

Elena Tanou-Ellinas, President of BPW Cyprus, told the Financial Mirror that the federation has already matched handful of potential candidates with suitable work.

“We are going a step beyond the state service at the Labour Ministry where unemployed people register for jobs they would like to get according to experience and qualifications,” she said.

The federation, that boasts some of the leading female executives of Cyprus as its members, has produced a pair of questionnaires that is given both to individuals seeking jobs as well as businesspeople seeking to employ new staff.

Apart from matching the contents of the comprehensive questionnaires, BPW is also working in association with First Elements Ventures to sort and analyse the data that includes questions such as “Do you believe your managers’ participation in training seminars ahs helped their rate of productivity?” or “Would you consider employing women over 40?”

Tanou-Ellinas said that although BPW is a grouping of professional women, the survey is not limited to female candidates. For that reason she has expanded the programme in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Nicosia-Aspelia to reach a far greater number of job seekers and businesses seeking to hire.
