For the second consecutive year, Motorola, Inc. iRadio was named Best Radio Service at the 2006 Billboard Digital Entertainment, Media + Marketing Excellence Awards (DEMMX), held in Los Angeles.

The award ceremony was part of the two-day Digital Entertainment, Media + Marketing Expo, hosted by Billboard magazine, Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek, and The Hollywood Reporter.

Motorola iRadio was recognized by an esteemed panel of judges from the entertainment and digital media industries. The service awarded “Best Radio Service (digital, Internet, satellite or other format) with respect to variety, innovation, and user experience.”  Other finalists in this category included SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Yahoo! Music.

“It is a true honor to receive the Best Radio Service award for the second year in a row,” said Mike Gaumond, vice president and general manager, Motorola Digital Media Services.  “This recognition further solidifies iRadio’s position as a premiere radio service for consumers and re-affirms the tremendous value iRadio brings to listeners, artists, songwriters, and labels.”

The award comes just two weeks after Motorola iRadio was named “Best Mobile Music Service” at the 2006 Digital Music Conference in Miami.

Offering seamless playback of radio and personal digital music collections between the mobile phone, car stereo, and home stereo, Motorola iRadio provides the ultimate in music discovery and entertainment on the one device you’re never without — your mobile phone.   The service offers over 600 channels of digital quality commercial-free music, and talk programs, covering virtually any genre, style, or topic.
