IMF delegation meets with Central Bank Governor

A four-member International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation held a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus Christodoulos Christodoulou, on the course of Cyprus’ economy.
Τhe meeting focused on the economic developments on the island and the monetary and exchange policy followed by the Central Bank. The IMF officials and the Governor also discussed the prospects of the economy as well as the role of the Central Bank before and after the introduction of the euro as planned for 1st January, 2008.
The delegation will also hold meetings with the Minister of Finance Michalis Sarris, the Planning Bureau, as well as leading figures and representatives of the banking sector, employers’ organisations and trade unions.
